What is P500?
P500 is a widely used preorder system within the wargame and conflict simulation publication industry. When you place a P500 order, you are placing a pre-order for Heroes of the Pacific (HOP). We use the money generated from these pre-orders to pay for the game’s printing.
Will my credit card be charged?
No, it won’t. We do not charge credit cards until the game heads into production. We do not anticipate accruing enough orders to publish HOP until November, at the earliest. Things, however, can change, but we will let you know if they do.
Why not wait until then?
Because then may never come. The number of orders is the primary trigger that launches the game production. If we don’t get enough orders, the game isn’t produced.
What if I order it through my favorite online retailer?
Those orders don’t register in our system. In general, retailer and distributor orders are placed with us after the game is released. Hence placing an order through them is the equivalent to not placing an order. If an online retailer gets 500 orders for HOP, it doesn’t make one bit of difference to the game’s publication. If we get 500 orders, we’ll drop everything we are doing and get the game out the door as fast as possible.
You’re telling me not to support my local game store or online retailer?
No, we aren’t. We will be lucky to reach 400 orders for HOP. Frequently we go to press by funding the difference from our pockets. If we get 400 orders, that leaves about 10,000 gamers available to buy from game stores. Please do support your local store, but also place P500 orders for games you’re interested in. It is our time, all publishers’ time, to make the money to publish games. If the publishers go out of business, the stores go out of business.

|
After a brief hiatus from World War II, the award-wining Lock ‘n Load game system returns to the Second War to end all wars with a vengeance. Twelve frantic firefights from America’s island-hopping campaign in the Pacific comprise this complete Lock ‘n Load game.
You will lead desperate Marines struggling ashore on Tarawa, face a counterattack of HA GO tanks at the Peleliu airfield, fight for Kitano Point on Iwo Jima, and more.
It isn’t, however, all about the Marines. Heroes of the Pacific comes chock full of the U.S. Army’s finest, as well as the Imperial Japanese Army. All drawn with the painstaking detail our fans have come to expect.

Four mounted, geomorphic maps representing the terrain the combatants fought over.
Skill cards to make those leaders lead and the heroes heroic.
Latest Lock ‘n Load series rules, module rules covering the combatants of the Pacific, and player aids.
